  4. What do we mean when we speak of the demonization of the Jew in this period? How do the events at Trent reflect this? In terms of the social agents whose actions and influence led to the Trent executions, what is characteristically Early Modern about the events?
  5. What factors lead to the creation of more elaborate Kehillot in the Early Modern period? What are the functions, strengths and limits of the various kinds of Jewish communal organization?
